Fitted furniture in Aberdare

If Timber Wall Panelling in Aberdare were straightforward, there would be a stock size for it. The housing here is largely valleys terraces, Victorian maritime villas and civic Portland stone frontages, and that shapes what will actually fit. The other factor is very high rainfall with strong Atlantic and Bristol Channel exposure, which is why prolonged wetting decay and finish failure on valley-facing elevations is the most common reason people call us. What you are paying for is setting out so panel lines relate to the doors and windows.

We check on site before committing anything to the saw, and we query what does not add up. One call is usually enough for us to tell you roughly where the price will land.

Worth knowing locally: valleys terraces share a repeating bay and sash format that suits batch manufacture.

What we cover locally

Survey visits in Aberdare are usually booked within a week. There is no charge for the survey and no obligation to proceed.

Nothing in your house is square in Aberdare

Which is the entire reason built-in furniture costs more than flat-pack, and the entire reason it looks better.

01

We scribe to the wall

Every panel is cut to the actual line of the plaster, so there is no tapering gap running down the side of the unit.

02

We measure at three heights

Alcoves are routinely 20 to 40mm wider at the bottom than the top. One measurement is how you end up packing the gap out.

03

We finish off site

Sprayed under workshop conditions, which is a level of finish site application simply cannot reach.

Aberdare questions

Will the finish need maintaining?

A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.

What guarantee do you provide?

Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?

Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.

Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes, we deliver across England, Wales and Scotland. Delivery is priced into the quotation so there is no separate charge added later.

Do you take a deposit?

Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.
