Fitted furniture in Birstall
Getting Timber Wall Panelling right in Birstall depends on detail that a price list cannot capture. Given the hosiery-era terraces, ironstone villages and large modern estates that dominates locally, standard sizes are the exception not the rule. dry inland climate with sharp seasonal swings is the local complication, and movement cracking and bead shrinkage from repeated wet-dry cycling is what it eventually causes. The value is in setting out so panel lines relate to the doors and windows, not in the timber bill.
Every job is measured on site first, because drawn sizes and built sizes are seldom the same. Rough dimensions and a couple of photographs are enough for us to price it properly.
A detail specific to this area: ironstone villages have distinctive mullion proportions worth matching.

Which is the entire reason built-in furniture costs more than flat-pack, and the entire reason it looks better.
We scribe to the wall
Every panel is cut to the actual line of the plaster, so there is no tapering gap running down the side of the unit.
We measure at three heights
Alcoves are routinely 20 to 40mm wider at the bottom than the top. One measurement is how you end up packing the gap out.
We finish off site
Sprayed under workshop conditions, which is a level of finish site application simply cannot reach.
What clients tell us
Feedback collected directly from completed projects. Full written references are available on request before you commit.
“The alcoves were nearly 40mm out top to bottom and you genuinely cannot tell.”
Verified client, Leicestershire“Finish is better than anything we have had sprayed on site, and it has stayed that way.”
Verified client, Leicestershire“They redesigned the internal layout after asking how we actually store things.”

How do you handle glazing?
Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
Can you match an existing profile?
Yes. If you can supply a section, a photograph with a rule in shot, or an old unit, we can replicate the profile. For conservation work this is usually the condition the planning officer will apply.
What if the opening is out of square?
Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.
Will the finish need maintaining?
A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.
