Fitted furniture in Hamilton
Ask three firms about Window Seats and Shutters in Hamilton and you will get three different answers. The housing here is largely sandstone tenements, Georgian New Town terraces and post-war housing schemes, and that shapes what will actually fit. The weather does the rest: cold wet winters with strong westerly exposure here, and sash and case failure in tenement stock and cill decay at stone junctions as the predictable result. The part that matters is shutters that fold back into the reveal without fouling the frame.
Every job is measured on site first, because drawn sizes and built sizes are seldom the same. Tell us what you are working with and we will put a fixed figure in writing.
One thing that catches people out here: Scottish sash and case construction differs from English box sash and needs matching.

Which is the entire reason built-in furniture costs more than flat-pack, and the entire reason it looks better.
We scribe to the wall
Every panel is cut to the actual line of the plaster, so there is no tapering gap running down the side of the unit.
We measure at three heights
Alcoves are routinely 20 to 40mm wider at the bottom than the top. One measurement is how you end up packing the gap out.
We finish off site
Sprayed under workshop conditions, which is a level of finish site application simply cannot reach.
What clients tell us
Feedback collected directly from completed projects. Full written references are available on request before you commit.
“The alcoves were nearly 40mm out top to bottom and you genuinely cannot tell.”
Verified client, Scotland Central Belt“Finish is better than anything we have had sprayed on site, and it has stayed that way.”
Verified client, Scotland Central Belt“They redesigned the internal layout after asking how we actually store things.”

How long does a typical order take?
Most made-to-size orders run six to ten weeks from survey to delivery. Conservation and heavily detailed work can take longer, and we confirm the lead time in writing at quotation rather than leaving it open.
How do you handle glazing?
Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.
Is the timber certified?
All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
Do you take a deposit?
Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.
