Window Seats and Shutters across Derbyshire
Window Seats and Shutters in Derbyshire is rarely a catalogue job. Property here runs to Peak District gritstone cottages, mill housing and Georgian spa stock, and each of those brings its own set of dimensions. What accelerates it is upland cold with heavy snow loading and hard frost, and frost heave damage and swelling on unbalanced-finish joinery follows sooner than owners expect. Our focus on this is shutters that fold back into the reveal without fouling the frame.
Nothing goes into manufacture until a surveyor has checked each opening on site. We will price it properly in writing, and we will tell you if it is not worth doing.
Local factor worth flagging early: Peak Park properties face some of the tightest external alteration controls in England.

Frequently asked questions
Do you cover Derbyshire?
Yes. We cover the whole of Derbyshire including Derby, Chesterfield, Ilkeston, Swadlincote and the surrounding villages. Peak Park properties face some of the tightest external alteration controls in England. Because upland cold with heavy snow loading and hard frost, we allow for it at survey stage rather than discovering it on the day.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
What if the opening is out of square?
Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.
Do you take a deposit?
Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.
