Fitted furniture in Alsager

Nothing about Home Libraries in Alsager is settled until someone has been on site. Local property is overwhelmingly black-and-white revival frontages, Georgian market towns and large modern detached stock, which is why we never quote from a catalogue. Set against moderate rainfall with damp Mersey basin air, most joinery here eventually shows joint opening and glazing failure on large-format modern units. The value is in shelf spans calculated so loaded shelves do not sag over time, not in the timber bill.

Nothing is ordered until someone has stood in front of the opening with a tape. Get in touch and we will be straight with you about cost and timescale.

One local point to factor in: high-value Cheshire stock frequently specifies engineered hardwood as standard.

What we cover locally

Survey visits in Alsager are usually booked within a week. There is no charge for the survey and no obligation to proceed.

Nothing in your house is square in Alsager

Which is the entire reason built-in furniture costs more than flat-pack, and the entire reason it looks better.

01

We scribe to the wall

Every panel is cut to the actual line of the plaster, so there is no tapering gap running down the side of the unit.

02

We measure at three heights

Alcoves are routinely 20 to 40mm wider at the bottom than the top. One measurement is how you end up packing the gap out.

03

We finish off site

Sprayed under workshop conditions, which is a level of finish site application simply cannot reach.

Alsager questions

Do you fit, or supply only?

Both. Supply-only is common for trade and contractor clients. For private clients we usually recommend supply and fit, because responsibility for the fit and the finish then sits in one place.

Is the timber certified?

All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.

Can you match an existing profile?

Yes. If you can supply a section, a photograph with a rule in shot, or an old unit, we can replicate the profile. For conservation work this is usually the condition the planning officer will apply.

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?

Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.

How long does a typical order take?

Most made-to-size orders run six to ten weeks from survey to delivery. Conservation and heavily detailed work can take longer, and we confirm the lead time in writing at quotation rather than leaving it open.
