Fitted furniture in Bishop Auckland
Timber Wall Panelling in Bishop Auckland is rarely a catalogue job. Local stock is dominated by colliery terraces, Georgian Durham city stock and Pennine stone housing, which sets the sizes and profiles we work to. The exposure here is cold upland winters with heavy rainfall, which is exactly the condition that causes frost and saturation damage on unmaintained painted softwood. The part that matters is setting out so panel lines relate to the doors and windows.
We survey before anything is cut, so the schedule reflects the opening as built rather than as drawn. Rough dimensions and a couple of photographs are enough for us to price it properly.
One local point to factor in: Durham's cathedral setting carries World Heritage-level design scrutiny.

Which is the entire reason built-in furniture costs more than flat-pack, and the entire reason it looks better.
We scribe to the wall
Every panel is cut to the actual line of the plaster, so there is no tapering gap running down the side of the unit.
We measure at three heights
Alcoves are routinely 20 to 40mm wider at the bottom than the top. One measurement is how you end up packing the gap out.
We finish off site
Sprayed under workshop conditions, which is a level of finish site application simply cannot reach.
What clients tell us
Feedback collected directly from completed projects. Full written references are available on request before you commit.
“The alcoves were nearly 40mm out top to bottom and you genuinely cannot tell.”
Verified client, County Durham“Finish is better than anything we have had sprayed on site, and it has stayed that way.”
Verified client, County Durham“They redesigned the internal layout after asking how we actually store things.”

Do you fit, or supply only?
Both. Supply-only is common for trade and contractor clients. For private clients we usually recommend supply and fit, because responsibility for the fit and the finish then sits in one place.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
What if the opening is out of square?
Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.
Do you take a deposit?
Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.
