Fitted furniture in Brighton

Fitted Wardrobes around Brighton is a different job from one street to the next. Given the Regency bows and bays, weatherboarded cottages and cliff-top villas that dominates locally, standard sizes are the exception not the rule. severe salt exposure combined with strong UV on south-facing frontages sets the pace of decay, and UV breakdown of clear finishes and rapid degradation of putty lines is how it shows up first. Our focus on this is using the full height so nothing is wasted above the rail.

We would rather spend an hour surveying than a week correcting. Send what you have, even if it is only a phone photo, and we will take it from there.

One local point to factor in: Regency bow windows demand curved-glass and matched-profile joinery.

What we cover locally

Survey visits in Brighton are usually booked within a week. There is no charge for the survey and no obligation to proceed.

Nothing in your house is square in Brighton

Which is the entire reason built-in furniture costs more than flat-pack, and the entire reason it looks better.

01

We scribe to the wall

Every panel is cut to the actual line of the plaster, so there is no tapering gap running down the side of the unit.

02

We measure at three heights

Alcoves are routinely 20 to 40mm wider at the bottom than the top. One measurement is how you end up packing the gap out.

03

We finish off site

Sprayed under workshop conditions, which is a level of finish site application simply cannot reach.

Brighton questions

What if the opening is out of square?

Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.

Can you match an existing profile?

Yes. If you can supply a section, a photograph with a rule in shot, or an old unit, we can replicate the profile. For conservation work this is usually the condition the planning officer will apply.

What guarantee do you provide?

Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.

How do you handle glazing?

Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.

Can you price from drawings?

Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
