Fitted furniture in Crowborough
People come to us about Window Seats and Shutters in Crowborough once the cheap option has already failed. You are mostly dealing with Regency bows and bays, weatherboarded cottages and cliff-top villas around here, so openings vary more than people expect. Then there is severe salt exposure combined with strong UV on south-facing frontages, which reliably produces UV breakdown of clear finishes and rapid degradation of putty lines given enough seasons. Everything we do here comes back to shutters that fold back into the reveal without fouling the frame.
A surveyor visits first and records the real dimensions, at several points on each opening. A quick call or a photograph of the opening is usually enough to get you a price.
One thing that catches people out here: Regency bow windows demand curved-glass and matched-profile joinery.

We scribe to the wall
Every panel is cut to the actual line of the plaster, so there is no tapering gap running down the side of the unit.
We measure at three heights
Alcoves are routinely 20 to 40mm wider at the bottom than the top. One measurement is how you end up packing the gap out.
We finish off site
Sprayed under workshop conditions, which is a level of finish site application simply cannot reach.
What clients tell us
Feedback collected directly from completed projects. Full written references are available on request before you commit.
“The alcoves were nearly 40mm out top to bottom and you genuinely cannot tell.”
Verified client, East Sussex“Finish is better than anything we have had sprayed on site, and it has stayed that way.”
Verified client, East Sussex“They redesigned the internal layout after asking how we actually store things.”

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?
Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.
Is the timber certified?
All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
Can you work on a listed building?
Yes, and a significant share of our work is listed or conservation area. We can supply drawings and section details to support a listed building consent or planning application, though the consent itself remains the owner's responsibility.
Will the finish need maintaining?
A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.
